Wild Brits in Benidorm
Of all the resorts on the Costa Blanca, Benidorm has always been the town with the reputation for it’s nightlife. ‘English Square’ is full of bars and clubs where young Brits tend to flock, stags and hens have weekend breaks there, and natually with the free ‘shots’, oversized shorts and cheap beer, there is always a fair amount of young people passed out in the steet or fighting on the beach at the end of the night.
Bendorm is a fantastic resort and great for families, but this behaviour (and embarrasingly, it is usually the British rather than other Europeans) is not good for the reputation of the resort and the Spanish Tourism Foundation are trying to introduce some kind of public decency bylaw in an effort to stop it. However, all the while there are a multitude of clubs and bars serving cheap alcohol, a large amount of young British expats in the area on top of the holidaymakers in summer, I think they will find this very difficult.
